There goes a saying....

There is a saying in Parliament and it goes like this: 'If two or more MPs are gathered together, it's a plot.'

I thought it was a joke when I first heard it, oh how I laughed; but sadly, it's no joke, it's true.

A couple of weeks ago, whilst working in the library (my office), Caroline Flint, Siobhan McDonagh and Hazel Blears tripped in and sat down together. After comparing shoes and handbags they huddled together. The saying really needs revising to:

'If two or more MPs are gathered together, and they are female, it is a vicious plot and it will come to pass.'

Just goes to prove the old saying - Never, ever underestimate a woman! (something your critics should remember!) And I speak from experience - in triplicate!

I would never underestimate any woman. By and large they are much braver and bolder than most men. I think that the Chipmunk and Nadine are more similar than either would care to admit.

Surely Brown is finished now? Never mind him being asked if Darling will still be Chancellor by the end of next week - the question now seems to be more along the lines of "will anything be left of this Labour government by the end of next week" I do hope there's some truth in Guido's wicked rumour about Caroline Flint being about to resign. Sometime this afternoon or early evening would be perfect timing Caroline!

Only a woman would dare make such a sexist remark ! (mind you, you are correct)

All that is missing is Lady Macbeth in the shadows with a sharp knife.

The Flint woman is a witch. Saw her on QT and she was arrogant, condescending and ill tempered, what a prima donna. Don't much like the chipmunk but she is preferrable to the witch. In fact all the Labour women who have resigned are just AWFUL.

Who in the Labour party would trust Hazel Blears after this?

Probably true, but not quite such a pithy saying.

'All that is missing is Lady Macbeth in the shadows with a sharp knife.' lady macbeth didn't actually carry out the deed but encouraged macbeth and she went mad when she finally recognised the full enormity of what she had put in motion.

I think David Cameron was very clever to allow Brown to do just sufficiently well enough at PMQs to help him survive. Labour MPs are incapable of forming a competent plot: the very idea of trying to start a backbench rebellion with an anonymous Hotmail account - I mean REALLY!! Without senior Labour MPs being prepared to put their heads above the parapet and publically call for Brown to go, he will survive. Good news for DC and the Tories!

All the left wing women do seem to be quite annoying, aggressive and patronising, but then maybe the men are equally annoying etc, just there are more of them which dilutes the perception? Maybe (certainly?) you have to be ruthless to become a successful political woman? And thereby standout from the female stereotype...in what is still largely a male dominated environment. And as we have seen, it ain't changed much in centuries...borne out by recent events.. The female tenacity knows no bounds, as Mr Brown may find out to his political peril...we hope. Or do we?

Except that Caroline has proved she has a heart of Flint and has stabbed her friend Hazel in the back. Then trampled the still warm corpse in the rush to follow her political sugar daddy, Gordon Brown...
