I have instructed and proceeded with legal action.

Obviously, I am not going to say anything at all at this stage, other than that.

Well Done. Perhaps you could answer what the Conservatives could do for me - the post is at http://www.labourlist.org/tell_me_why_i_should_continue_to_support_labour,2009-04-06

Good on you Nadine. It's time Brown Central and its comrades in the bunker were put in their place. If members of the Labour party had stood up to the bullies surrounding Flash Gordon since 1982 we might not now be facing the worst financial disaster in 60 years.

Good - how about signing a petition for Brown to call an election as well? http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/please-go/#detail The more signitures the better. It's a pity we the electorate cannot prosecute Brown for Squandering our private pensions Selling the states' gold reserve at the lowest price possible, and squandering that money. Squandering the national tax incomes. Raising countless indirect taxes, with NI (direct taxation by another name). Squandering all that money. Creating a huge off-the-books national debt - more squandered money. Squandering the national debt. He prevented the BoE from governing the city effectively with the creation of the FSA which was also ineffective. Going back to the pensions point, that's peoples savings for the future, the four basic needs for survival - food, warmth, clothing and shelter. Where's the replacement food coming from - with approx 600,000 women claiming the govt are stating their pension is £25 per week! Plenty more going to have the same. Since when did private companies do cheap fuel bills for pensioners instead of £bn profits?

Gathering momentum at just the right moment Courtesy of "That's News" Saturday, April 25, 2009 Drapergate and Smeargate over? No chance! Round three! Ding! Ding! Apparently it was decided that smearing the good name of a female Conservative MP was acceptable to many people in the Labour Party. Including the Feminist sisterhood who, rather like the priest and the Levite, passed by on the other side of the road and left Nadine under attack from the Labour boot boys. Odd how their feminism is like a cloak that they can put on or pull off whenever the mood takes them. If Gordon Brown believed or even hoped that the dreadful Drapergate or Smeargate story was all over and kicked in to the long grass for ever, he was obviously not counting on the reaction of Nadine Dorries, MP. Nadine has posted the following on her blog: "I have instructed and proceeded with legal action. Obviously, I am not going to say anything at all at this stage, other than that." http://blog.dorries.org/Blogs/2009/Apr/25#25 All I can say is: Anyone being sued by Nadine has got it coming to them. That's News awaits these and other future developments with interest.

Nadine Make sure that the damages you sue for are sufficiently high to thwart the buggers agreeing to pay up and setttle out of Court. Take the nasty man to the financial graveyard in the same way his Master has taken this once proud Nation.

Brilliant !!!! Go for it girl !! I hope you have instructed your lawyers to launch discovery proceedings. It will be interesting to know just who was in on this - McBride, Draper, Watson, Balls, et all. But do instruct your lawyers to pursue this vigourously and with the utmost ruthlessness. All this crowd round Gordon the Moron are nasty horrible people. Good luck.

I wish you the best of luck Nadine. It is about time that someone stood up to these creeps. Could be quite interesting if it gets to court. Who knew what when? Gordon Brown in the dock. Oh bliss!!! That will make my day. Please don't settle out of court..this has to go all the way to teach them for once and for all.If it brings this Government down I shall send you a couple of bottles of champagne (sorry can't afford a box)! I sincerely hope that one day we will get back our once proud nation. You are helping Nadine.

Much as I would echo the sentiments expressed in earlier comments, is it really worth it personally, Nadine? In so many cases like this the only real winners are the lawyers. Brown and Co are busy self-destructing anyway, so why put yourself through the hassle and cost of litigation? Yes, we'd all love to see you win, and we'd love to see this dross of the political landscape having to defend themselves in court, but at what price? Like others have said earlier, I too would be willing to contribute to a fighting fund. Can't promise to buy much more than a few minutes at barrister's hourly rates, though. ;-)

With the government now planning to monitor all emails this could backfire. A precident could be set where any email/blog/chat room comments could become targets by those dodgy lawyers who have been playing the no win no fee game for the last 10 years. Nadine would be better off giving Brown a bloody good kick in the knackers next time they meet in the house.

Good on you, Nadine - go for it. Humiliate them and sue them personally, so that they have to cough up, plus post the full and grovelling apology on the front page of every newspaper in the land. If McPoison was on the public payroll, as has been admitted, then Comrade Chairman McBroon is vicariously liable for the actions of his employee, and is just as vulnerable. Please start a fund for your legal fees - I for one would like to contribute

Good Luck, these people are a nasty breed who have brought politics down to their own level in the gutter. None of them deserve to be living off the tax payers hard-earned cash. We need a new brand of politics where the main steam of voters feel they have a say and the back benchers hold the Government to account, not sit on their hands and collect expenses.

Wow. Slightly pointless and a little pathetic after there has been a public and private apology to yourself and others concerned. Not to mention the accused resigning anyway. But hey, your choice I guess. I personally think its ridiculous, as all it does is waste time and effort which could be directed at other things. If we all sued everyone who called us names, or plotted behind our backs, we'd still still be in court cases in 2090! I think it's pointless and petty, and is just another demonstration of how childish politics is in this day and age. All it ever seems to be is one party firing at another party and looking for mistakes, big and small. If you look for mistakes you will find them, because no one is perfect. That doesn't mean it's right to criticise every wrong move. I think alot of people need to grow up and stop playing 'My Daddy's bigger than yours'. Stop constantly trying to take the other down and try working together once in a while. People say one of the many things wrong with Great Britain is it's government. I wonder why...
